Do you struggle with grooming your dog?
🩵At Balanced Paws we are firm believers in creating a loving and safe relationships that allow us to work with the dog not against them on how they feel comfortable being groomed. When we work on building these relationships it results in fear free grooms that don’t require the use of tethers, loops or belly straps.
There are multiple ways this can be achieved such as:
🐩Adding daycare - results in no time restraints, the groomer is relaxed as well as the dog. The dog has the option to play and get some energy out before the process is commenced. We allow leg stretching, regular toilet breaks and relaxing in between grooming.
📆A regular schedule: Our clients are offered a regular schedule to go on. This stops the dog from getting to a point where they’re uncomfortable and knotty, this also reduces the cost for the client as well as wear and tear to grooming tools and physical strain on the groomer. The dogs are looked over every week for knots as well as receiving a brush, nail trim, and blowout all followed by a bath halfway if they choose and a full clip / deshed at the preferred time frame.
🐾Whilst daycare and grooming packages are an option, ideally the process can be started from home with a weekly schedule for your dog.
🐶E.g. Touching paws, face, tail, checking teeth, ears.
🐶Combing and brushing your dogs coat at least once a week
🐶Exposing them to louder noises such as the hair dryer or vacuum.
🐶Regularly washing and drying your dog.
🐶Trimming of nails or touching nails individually.

Bath:
This includes a shampoo and conditioning, nail trim and blow dry, brush out.
De-shed:
For when you are finding hair all over your furniture, clothes and floor!!!
To speed the molting process along, we blow out the coat, brush/comb the loosened hair and bath.
To finish, we brush/comb until no more hair comes out.
Clip of coat
For those non-shedding dogs that require their hair to be cut, to keep them looking the best.
In most cases this is achieved with clippers, but sometimes only scissors are needed if we're just tidying up the ends of the coat.
In between cuts, sometimes an eye and butt trim are needed for maintenance.
This can be included when booking in for a bath.
