Needing a holiday but can't take your pooch?
The beauty of living in the heart of Gippsland is there's plenty to do and see! Whilst day care is great for those shorter day trips and adventures, it can be tricky to find a place locally that allows your furry pals to stay overnight/multiple days. We have curated a list of local kennels and boarding facilities in our area to help you find your perfect match! We don't have any personal pet sitting or dog walking suggestions at this time.
How do I know if boarding is the right fit for my dog?
Leaving your dog in the care of new people/facilities can be daunting, especially if its the first time doing so. Here are a few of our tips when it comes to finding the right place..
1. Read the reviews and ask questions - reviews are a good place to start, they can provide other clients experiences, ask your local community groups, seek further information from websites etc.
2. Visit multiple facilities before making a decision. Organise a viewing of the location to gain a better understanding and if you're still on the fence why not try booking your dog in for an overnight visit before going on your holiday? Like any other new experiences, some dogs may need several visits to warm up/get used to the new environment.
3. Trust your intuition and your dogs behaviour. If you are both unsure its probably not the right choice for you.
